The Story of Emily

I must tell this story. I am still in shock that this story is 100% true, but you had to be there....In November of 2009 I resided at a battered women shelter. I was surrounded by women who had lost all hope in men and relationships due to their current unfortunate situation. But as women often do in those kinds of time we bond together. We became a temporary family.

Anyway, one of the residence was having birthday on her last night in the shelter, well I had no money and did not know her enough to get her something I think she'd like, so I gave her a free reading. This excited the other women to get readings that night as well. A woman, named Emily, challenged her beliefs of the supernatural, and was badly attached to her formerly abusive husband. I used the 10 card Celtic cross for her reading. Her reading indicated that her husband was intending to hurt her if she went back to him...and I mean murder her!!! Not wanting to accept this as true, she scattered the tarot cards all over the table and the floor.

After urging her to pick them up, she insisted more that it was incorrect. So I regrouped maturely and formed a second reading for her. Once gathered and shuffled, she placed all ten cards in their proper position, surprising they all showed up again, IN THE SAME PLACES...just confirming the previous reading. For those of you who are unfamiliar with the tarot, there are 72 cards in total. Emily's reading only required 10 cards, for her to scatter all 72 cards, the odds of the same 10 to re-appear, and in the same places were 1 in 7,200. Was it math, or was it fate? Don't test fate, you must believe!

Later that week, Emily's husband sent her a threatening letter, indicating he knew her whereabouts and his evil intentions for her if she didn't come home, luckily Emily was able to get legal protection. Emily had been thinking about going back to him, and was grateful that she was able to find out the truth and lives safely and peacefully without her ex-husband.
